According to a recent report, Israel's Deputy Defense Minister warned that their next war will bring "simultaneous missle strikes and terrorist attacks". Officials say it's not a matter of if but when a war will occur. In order to prepare for the inevitable, the government will be conducting a drill lasting 5-days starting June 5. This drill will be the largest in Israel's history!

Now, you may ask yourself why this Israeli "Fire Drill" is such a big deal?
Well...grab your Bible and randomly open it up. Chances are that you opened up to a passage about Israel. The reason for this is that Israel is a major focus of God's plan. According to the Bible, it is the land that God promised to Abraham (Genesis 15:18), which was later fulfilled when Joshua led the people into the promised land (The Book of Joshua). God also promised to bring the Israelites back to their land (Ezekiel 37:21), which occurred on May 14, 1948, with the establishment of the Jewish nation. Finally, God promises that the nations of the earth will come against Israel in the "last days" (Zechariah 12:2-3); and as we read the daily news we are starting to see Zechariah's prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes!
Many of Israel's Arab neighbors would like to see the demise, if not the total destruction, of Israel (with the most notable of those countries being Iran). Even the United States, who was once a staunch ally of Israel, has now started pulling away its support of Israel and urging Israel to strongly consider a two-state solution with its Palestinian neighbors.

Whether you have good feelings, bad feelings, or no feelings about Israel, the truth is that they are a special nation (what other nation has survived centuries of persecution and threats to their existence and still end up in the headlines every day?)**. No matter who tries to rid the world of the Jews, whether it be a Hitler or an Ahmadinejad, Israel will continue to play an important role in world events and in Bible Prophecy and will ultimately host the World's Last War of all time, the War of Armageddon.

**While it's true that what we consider today as the current nation of Israel has only been around since May 14, 1948, the Jewish race has been around for centuries. This race of people orginated in the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - over 3500 years ago!
